How to Cite Ordained Servant

Please feel free to make use of Ordained Servant as a resource for your own academic work, but remember to cite correctly. Please cite in conformity with the models in The Chicago Manual of Style (CMS). CMS style is used in history and in many other humanities fields. It prefers notes rather than embedded citations in the text, but examples of both forms are given below.

Note that some articles that were first printed in volumes 1-14 (1992-2005), and are currently available in PDF format, have been republished online in volumes 15-16 (2006-2007). Beginning in 2007 an annual printed edition of the previous year (starting with volume 15 in 2006) contains most if not all of that year's online material. The annual printed edition is also available in PDF format on opc.org.

Which version—electronic or print—should you cite? CMS requires the format consulted to be the one cited. It also suggests that it may be helpful to list other forms in which the publication has been made available.
