One of this year's four English for Kids Bible Camps took place in St-Georges de Beauce, Quebec, July 4-8, 2016. Twenty-two volunteers from the Presbytery of New York and New England, under the leadership of Mrs. Olivia Durham, presented the camp. The Bible camp was an outreach to local French-speaking children interested in learning English. One of the local French-speaking volunteers who helped run the camp prepared a daily newsletter for all those who supported and prayed for the camp.
Newsletter #1: "JOUR 1 CAMP"
“This year, the 6 to 14 year old children who attended our camp were introduced to the world of John Bunyan’s The Pilgrim’s Progress. The story, written in 1678, tells the trial-filled journey of Christian on his way towards the Heavenly City. On his way he encounters the Quicksand of Discouragement, the Castle of Doubt, ferocious animals, battles, and friendships . . . “
