Mike Cloy, Presbytery of the Southeast Diaconal Committee Chairman tells us, "There is a plan to conduct a site survey in Marion and McDowell County and possibly the surrounding counties of Avery and Yancy with the help of two members of Landis OPC, Mr. Steve Parks who is a civil engineer and Mr. Jimmy Laughridge, a general contractor along with Mr. Seth Long, an elder and home builder from Neon OPC and Mike Kelly from Heritage OPC, Wilmington, NC on Nov 5, 2025. Once we have completed the site survey we will share more about how we hope to help families in need of long term mercy ministry.”
Gifts for the Hurricane Helene Fund have reached nearly $145,000. Thank you to all who have donated! In addition to meeting needs of affected members of the OPC, priority will also be given to those affected in congregations of sister churches in the ARP, PCA, and others, some of whom have suffered significantly. Updates on this effort can be found by going to the OPC Disaster Response website. Donations can continue to be made to the Hurricane Helene Fund, but if you'd like to contribute to the needs of either or both Helene or Milton, please direct your gifts to the "2024 Hurricanes Fund" .
