December 15 Today in OPC History

Covenant OPC, Tuscon, Arizona

On December 15, 2013, Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Tuscon, Arizona, was organized as a particular congregation by the Presbytery of Southern California and Mr. Christopher Chelpka was installed as the organizing pastor. A little over four years earlier in May 2009, Regional Home Missionary David Crum had started to visit a core group in Tucson twice a month. On October 25, 2009, Covenant Church began regular worship services with around twenty five individuals attending on a regular basis. Two retired Presbyterian Church in America pastors helped fill the pulpit until Mr. Chelpka arrived in 2010 following his graduation from Westminster Seminary California. Mr. Chelpka continues to serve faithfully as the Covenant Church pastor.
