On February 27, 1960, the Presbytery of New Jersey held its stated meeting at Faith OPC, Pittsgrove. The meeting began with a devotional service in which presbytery member, the Rev. Dr. Meredith G. Kline, discussed the similarities between the covenant given by God to the Israelites at Sinai, and ancient treaties between suzerains and their vassals. The presbytery elected Dr. Kline to serve as moderator two months later at its April 2 meeting held at Grace OPC, White Horse, New Jersey.
