On December 8, 1964, the members of Grace OPC, Vienna, Virginia were able to purchase 3.3 acres of land on Cedar Lane for $26,000. The congregation's previous offer of $18,000 had been rejected, and there was concern in the months leading up to the settlement that financing for the needed $26,000 would not be obtained.
Three and a half years later on June 30, 1968 under the leadership of Pastor Larry Vail, the building for Grace OPC was dedicated. The Rev. Charles Ellis preached on the topic, "The Church's Task Today." Eight years later, a new 200-seat auditorium along with a library, tape room, and new narthex were added.
