On this date in 1990, the program committees of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, the Committees on Home and Foreign Missions and Christian Education, and Great Commission Publications, moved out of the administrative office building on Old York Road in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, affectionately known as "7401." The committees had worked together at "7401" since its purchase in 1961. The building's rapidly deteriorating condition and high maintenance costs led to the sale of the property.
Twenty-one years later when the Committee of the Historian sought to illustrate D. G. Hart's Between the Times: The Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Transition, 1945-1990, it chose a picture of "7401" to represent the era on the cover.
